I really love the idea of this trash can, and loved how it worked for the first 6 months or so. The first thing to go wrong was that the batteries kept falling out and into the trash. The battery compartment door broke. We taped it up, but that means it's a hassle to change batteries. Then, the lid started opening slower and not opening completely, like it lost it's zeal for life. Whether the lid motor is depressed or defective, I'm unwilling to pay $50 for a replacement lid. So, it's almost a year old, and has only worked as expected for roughly half that time. I think my next trash can will be a traditional step-open.

We have enjoyed this product for 6 years and just bought our second one. If we could easily buy replacement lids when it broke it would be even better. It will work great for you if you don't lift the top mechanism by the lid.

Not much to say...thought it looked like a great idea so I ordered it. It's now 2 years later and I'm still on my first set of batteries.

Great product, ease of use is fantastic.

Maybe a little annoying if you walk by too close and it opens on its own, but...not annyoing enough to rate lower than 5 stars.

Definitely worth the money, and a conversation piece to boot.

This 11.1-Gal Stainless Steel Touchless Trash can is designed and engineered by Nine Stars, the world's first legal patent holder. With its designed shape, it will be a good fit in the kitchen, pantry room, living room, bedroom, dorm room or children's room.
